Coach Potter is currently entering his third season as Head Women’s Soccer Coach at D’Youville College. In 2010, his second season, Lew led the Spartans to their best season in school history. Improving from ninth place and a 3-13 record in 2009, the Spartans went 11-6 and finished in fourth place in 2010. D’Youville landed 5 players on All AMCC teams, and coach Potter was named AMCC Coach of the Year.
Coach Potter’s previous college experience includes Director of Soccer Operations and Head men’s and women’s coach at Medaille College from 1997-2001. During his tenure, Potter led the Medaille women’s team to the Upstate Athletic Alliance championship while guiding the men’s team to title match that same season. In 2006 and 2007 Potter worked as an assistant coach with the Buffalo State women’s team.
Coach Potter served as the Director of Coaching, Adimistrative Director and Tournament Director at Hamburg Monarchs Soccer Club from 2006-2011. Coach Potter has over twenty years of successful coaching experience at multiple levels and age groups including club, premier, high school, college, and ODP.
Potter has been a head coach with the Empire/Buffalo United Soccer Club and Buffalo Niagara SC. His teams have captured the State Cup, US Club National Cup, and multiple Upstate Premier League championships. A number of his players have gone on to play at the Division I level.
A graduate of Medaille College, Potter holds a NSCAA Premier License, National Youth Diploma, and Director of Coaching certificate from the NSCAA and USSF.
